Zürischum AOC Zürichsee Brut Rosé Pinot Noir
A real champagne house, or guild for zhampagne, as we call it in Zurich, also needs an elegant rosé sparkling wine. As with all of our products, we have opted for a single-origin sparkling wine. Our Rosé Brut contains 100% Pinot Noir and, like our R Noiseling, can also thrive on the shores of the Zurich lake. In the last beautiful autumn days, the ripe, violet-blue grapes are picked by hand and then gently pressed. Then the base wine is brought to the bottle and fermented in the bottle according to the "Méthode Traditionnelle".
The Pinot Noir grape:
The Lake Zurich wine-growing region is located at the gates of Zurich and has a good 130 hectares of which over 50 hectares are planted with Pinot Noir. Pinot Noir is a very demanding and difficult to grow variety. This grape variety is usually grown in smaller quantities, as is the case on Lake Zurich, and is rewarded with a very elegant and delicately fruity wine. It smells of plums, cherries, plums, berries and sometimes almonds, rose and green peppers.
Specialty:
Pinot Noir is one of the «Cépages nobles», which is the French name for the best and finest grape varieties in the world. It is the main grape variety for red Burgundy and forms the basic component for many champagnes.
